View Trip Advisor website “Excellent - will be staying again” David Wilberforce Sunday, 19 June 2016 Booked this for a family wedding and what a great choice! Location is so convenient being in the centre of Ambleside but still quite and peaceful. Free parking was very convenient. Rooms were excellent - clean, spacious, comfy and the jacuzzi bath was a real bonus. The breakfast buffet was excellent with loads of choice and really refreshing fresh fruit. Trevor and team could not have been nicer or more helpful and welcoming. Already talking about coming back. View Trip Advisor website “"IMPRESSED"” T Colbourne Sunday, 05 June 2016 Clean, convenient, friendly, plentiful breakfast, spacious room, free parking etc etc and did I mention CLEAN. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay at BRATHAY LODGE again. And I can't recommend AMBLESIDE enough. View Trip Advisor website “Excellent weekend stay” BettyR9 Tuesday, 24 May 2016 We stayed at Brathay Lodge for the Windermere marathon. Within walking distance of Brathay Hall, it was the perfect location. Everything throughout our stay was great. Friendly welcome, helpful information, lovely clean room with everything we needed plus an additional treat of the spa bath! Breakfast was buffet style/help yourself continental - constantly being refilled, loads of fresh fruit and choice and a great coffee machine! In the heart of Ambleside it was ideal, thank you! View Trip Advisor website “Spring weekend in the Lakes” PTrun Sunday, 08 May 2016 What a lovely place to stay in Ambleside! Centrally located but nice and quiet. Met by the lovely Carol who couldn't do enough for us to make us welcome, plus locking away the bike safely. Trevor was fantastic getting up at 5am on the Sunday to prepare breakfast for those taking on the Fred Whitton challenge, couldn't have asked for a better start! We will be making a return, thank-you View Trip Advisor website “Relaxing retreat” Samuel T Monday, 25 April 2016 Myself and my partner stayed here for 2 nights in one of the dog friendly rooms with our 2 Labradors, situated outside to the rear of the hotel leading on to the car park.. The room was lovely, clean, spacious clean bathrooms and a great powerful shower, and even a jacuzzi bath witch is very relaxing after a walk.. For being situated on the car park it was very quiet and didn't hear cars and other people coming and going..... The staff were all very helpful and friendly. breakfast was continental... Cearials, ham, cheese, fruit etc.... A Bacon sandwich would of been lovely though... But I can hardly complain... Would defiantly stay again and look forward to or return. Thanks Sam, Rory, Benson & Cooper View Trip Advisor website “Going the extra mile!” Suzie A Wednesday, 24 February 2016 A spontaneous visit to Ambleside to try and find a place to stay for an extra night, on a Saturday afternoon, after spending the previous couple of days at a family wedding near Windermere, brought us to Brathay Lodge. We could not have been made more welcome and were lucky enough to get one of only two available rooms. It was extremely well-appointed with a nice bathroom, the best shower we have experienced in any hotel in Britain and the bonus of a jacuzzi bath which made for great relaxation after a lovely fell walk. The lady who booked us in, who I think may have been Karen, (although I'm ashamed to say I didn't ask her name), really went the extra mile, she recommended and booked us a lovely restaurant for our evening dinner and even offered to pay for / or refund me for any gluten and lactose-free products I may have required for my breakfast, in addition to what they already had on offer for these intolerances. That has never happened to me before - usually I have to make do or bring my own. I didn't need to though as they had everything I needed and the breakfast buffet was very good. The lodge is extremely well positioned, a short walk from Ambleside's main street, and our room had its own door out onto the spacious car park for easy access. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely return to Brathay Lodge. View Trip Advisor “Saviour” FireHuw Monday, 07 December 2015 We had cause to find a hotel on Sat 5th Dec due to us being marooned in Ambleside due to flooding and found that Brathay Lodge had a spare room. After speaking to the very helpful man on reception we found ourselves in a lovely warm dry room. The place was really nice, the guy who booked us in was really friendly and nothing too much trouble, the breakfast was great, plenty of choice and always being restocked. If we go again to Ambleside for a short break, we will definitely try here. Well done you lot, very satisfied, will be back. Grateful for a lovely dry warm escape from the rain.....tho we did get damp getting to the pub on the night. View Trip Advisor Whois
